Metal Roof or Shingles?

If you are in the market for a new roof, one of the questions you may have is whether to use a metal panel roof or asphalt shingles. Today I would like to tell you about some advantages of replacing your roof with a metal roof rather than using asphalt shingles! Whether you notice it or not metal roofs are everywhere. Here are some reasons to consider a metal roof rather than a shingle roof.

1. Longevity

Did you know that metal roofing often requires little to zero maintenance after installation? Roofing metal is designed to last decades longer than any other roofing material. Often the reason consumers decide to purchase a metal roof is because it will likely be the last roof they ever have to put on their homes! Depending on the type of metal material uses, most metal roofs last more than 50 years without any signs of corrosion or degradation.

2. Maintenance

The upkeep needed to maintain a metal roof is minimal, especially if the roof is installed properly. Normal upkeep would include removing debris that might get stuck on the roof and in the gutters a couple times a year or after a large storm.

3. Insurance Savings

In some situations a metal roof can lower your home insurance premiums because metal is much less likely to fail from fire, hail, or other damage than other types of roofing.
